Me René Branchaud, President of the Board of Directors of the Opéra de Montréal, is delighted to announce the appointment of a new slate of officers to the company’s board of directors. Pascal Lépine, Founder and President of Atypic, and Elizabeth Wirth, President of Wirth-Brand Inc., have been named Vice-Presidents; Alysia Yip-Hoi Martin, Founding President of Maison Alysia, has been appointed Secretary; and Sylvie Marois, Vice-President of National Bank, Private Banking, remains Treasurer.

“The Opéra de Montréal is a true pioneer in the world of opera with its development of new operas, its unique artist training at the Atelier lyrique, and its innovative initiatives in the spheres of outreach and education,” stated Mr. Branchaud. “These new appointments are very exciting and will effectively support the entrepreneurial nature of our company, as well as the major projects taking shape on the horizon,” he concluded.

The Opéra de Montréal is currently preparing to bring its 22-23 season to a close with a sold-out production of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. The subscription campaign for the new 23-24 season—which notably includes great classics The Marriage of Figaro and La Traviata, as well as two new works, La Reine-garçon and Enigma—is also exceeding expectations. With the first phase of the renewal campaign just ending, the number of subscriptions has already surpassed that of previous seasons—which is excellent news for the company!
