Biography

Guy Bélanger is a singer, conductor, and chorus master. For the Société lyrique d’Aubigny, of which he is a founder, he sang the title role of Faust, as well as that of Nadir (Les pêcheurs de perles). He has also appeared as Prince Shuysky (Boris Godunov) at the CBC, and as Vladimir (Prince Igor) at the Festival international de Lanaudière. Other roles include Alfredo (La traviata), Rodolfo (La bohème), Des Grieux (Manon), and Don José (Carmen), which he has performed on stages in France, Ireland, Austria, Spain, Hungary, China, the United States, and Canada. He is a former Artistic and Musical Director of the Opéra de Québec, a position he now holds at the Chœur de Québec and the Ensemble philharmonique Edwin-Bélanger.
