Justine Ledoux

Recognized for her "captivating, velvety timbre" and her "mastery of low and high notes that enhance her artistry with captivating intensity," Quebec mezzo-soprano Justine Ledoux was named one of the CBC’s 30 Hot Classical Musicians Under 30 in 2025 and is the recipient of that same year’s Choquette-Symcox Award. This season, she sings Serena Joy in The Handmaid’s Tale at the Banff Centre, Pastuchyna in Jenůfa (Opéra de Montréal), Mrs. Grose in The Turn of the Screw (Opéra de Montréal / NACO), and is the understudy for Carmen (Opéra de Montréal). Recent projects include Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Brott Opera), Wellgunde in Das Rheingold (Calgary Opera), Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro (Calgary Opera), and Mercédès in Carmen (Calgary Opera). A graduate of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and the McPhee Program at Calgary Opera, she is currently studying with Lena Hellström-Färnlöf.
