James Westman

Whether performing art song, concert or opera throughout the world, baritone James Westman’s passion and musicianship bring an extra dimension to his performances. Mr. Westman’s 2017-2018 season includes the title role in Verdi’s Rigoletto  (L’Opéra de Montréal), Carmina Burana (St. Louis and Vancouver symphonies), Brahms’ Requiem (Orchestre symphonique de Québec),  Eustacio in L’assedio di Calais (Boston’s Odyssey Opera) and as Germont in La traviata (Manitoba Opera). He recently appeared for the Wexford Festival, Utah Opera, and scored a personal triumph as Sir John A MacDonald in Louis Riel in Toronto, Ottawa, and Quebec, a Canadian Opera Company production celebrating Canada’s Sesquicentennial Year.
