Ellita Gagner

Mezzo-soprano, Canada

Canadian mezzo-soprano Ellita Gagner has been praised for her “beautiful, warm timbre…” (La Scena Musicale). A graduate of the University of Toronto Opera School and Western University, she pursued her studies with Dr. Lorna MacDonald and Adrianne Pieczonka. She has performed roles across Canada, including in Cendrillon, L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, Lysistrata, Hänsel and Gretel, Così fan tutte, La Cenerentola and Disobedience. Her performances have led her to appear on stages such as those of Opera Nova Scotia, the Brott Festival, the London Community Orchestra and the Uxbridge Messiah Singers and Orchestra, among others. In 2025-26, she will make her debut at the Opéra de Montréal in the role of Tetka in Jenůfa and Miss Jessel in The Turn of the Screw (Atelier lyrique / NACO).

Ellita Gagner’s residency is made possible through artistic sponsorship by Sue & Soren Wehner.
