Magali Simard-Galdès

Magali is a grant recipient of the Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation (2015), the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada (Maureen Forrester Award) and the Wexford Festival Opera (Gerard Arnhold Bursary). She will complete her musical studies in the Spring 2016 at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, under the guidance of Aline Kutan. With the Atelier lyrique, she was a soloist in Trouble in Tahiti (McGill Chamber Orchestra), Les Amoureux célèbres and Rendez-vous à l’opérette. In 2015-2016, she was a Semi-Finalist in the Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition and the Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition. In the fall, Magali has made a critically acclaimed European debut in the role of Nicette in Le pré aux clercs by Hérold at the Wexford Festival Opera (Ireland). She will perform opera arias by Mozart with the Orchestre symphonique de l'Estuaire in December.
