Cécile Muhire

Soprano, Canada

A graduate from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, Cécile is currently working with soprano Lyne Fortin and opera coach Esther Gonthier. She is a grant recipient of Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation (2014-2015) and 2nd Prize Winner of the Ottawa Choral Society New Discoveries. In 2014, Cécile made her debut with the Opéra de Montréal as The Strawberry Woman (Porgy and Bess) and sang the role of Laeticia (The Old Maid and The Thief). In 2015-2016, Cécile sings Adina (L’elisir d’amore) with the Lanaudière Sinfonia, gives a recital in Rouyn-Noranda for the Jeunesses Musicales. She is a soloist in La petite messe solennelle de Rossini (Chœur de l’Orchestre Métropolitain) and participates in Atelier concerts: Du cinéma à l’opéra (Atelier lyrique); concert Les écrivains et l’opéra (Atelier lyrique - Festival international de littérature).
