Alexey Dolgov (RUSSIA) – Robert Devereux

Alexey Dolgov began studying singing at the Novosibirsk State Conservatory in 2001. In 2002, he became a student of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory. After relocating to Moscow, Dolgov joined the Helikon Opera Company for one season, before he was signed as a principle at the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre. In 2008, he made a very successful U.S. debut as the Duke (Rigoletto) with the Washington National Opera, and has continued to be invited to the company. Subsequently, he has appeared as Rodolfo (La bohème) at the Houston Grand Opera, and as Alfredo (La traviata) at the Los Angeles Music Center Opera. OdM debut.

Dimitra Theodossiou (GREECE) – Elisabeth I

Considered to be one of the most exciting and important voices for the Verdi and bel canto repertoire, her roles include Odabella (Attila), Lucia di Lammermoor, Norma, Giselda (I Lombardi alla prima crociata), Anna Bolena, Elvira (Ernani), Leonora (Il trovatore), Desdemona (Otello), Elisabetta (Don Carlo), Violetta (La traviata), Amalia (I Masnadieri), Lucrezia (I due Foscari), Elisabetta (Roberto Devereux), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), and Lucrezia Borgia, among others. Companies at which she regularly appears include Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Greek National Opera, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the Royal Opera House-Covent Garden, La Fenice in Venice, the Arena di Verona, Opéra de Monte Carlo, and Teatro alla Scala, among many others. Elizabeth Batton (U.S.A.) – Sarah

One of the most promising young singers essaying the operatic repertoire, she joined the Metropolitan Opera roster in 2003, and in recent seasons, has appeared as Sara (Roberto Devereux) at the Dallas Opera, Charlotte (Werther) with the Kentucky Opera and Indianapolis Opera, Maddalena (Rigoletto) for the Arizona Opera, Evadne (Troilus and Cressida) with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Carmen with Indianapolis Opera, Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) for the Washington Opera, Olga (Eugene Onegin) at the Cleveland Opera and the Boston Lyric Opera, Eva (Eva) at the Wexford Festival, Nicklausse/Muse (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) at the Los Angeles Opera, and Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) at Pittsburgh Opera. OdM debut.

James Westman (CAN) – Nottingham

Whether performing in song, concert, or opera, internationally acclaimed James Westman remains vigilant in his passion for healing and exploring human nature. This young
Verdi-baritone has performed leading roles for many principal opera houses in North America and Europe. Engagements in recent seasons include Marcello (La bohème) for the
New York City Opera and Santa Fe Opera, Germont (La traviata) for the English National Opera and St. Louis Opera Theatre, Talbot
(Maria Stuarda) for the Dallas Opera, Frederic (Lakmé) for the Opéra de Montreal, Escamillo (Carmen) for the Calgary Opera, and a recording of the role of Bonifacio Gieremei
(Imelda de’ Lambertazzi) for Opera Rara, England. Last OdM appearance: Madama Butterfly (2008).

Francesco Maria Colombo (ITALY) – Conductor

Since being invited by Gian Carlo Menotti to conduct the Spoleto Festival concert in the square in 2001, and being asked back in 2002 to conduct The Telephone and The Medium, directed by the composer himself,
Francesco Maria Colombo has gone on to conduct more than 40 orchestras around the world. He has also established regular relationships with opera companies in the U.S. and Europe, conducting such operas as Maria Padilla, Orazi e Curiazi,
Roberto Devereux, Tosca, La bohème, Don Pasquale, Les Contes d’Hoffmann,
Il trovatore, Pagliacci, La voix humaine,
Pelléas et Mélisande, and L’Arlésienne.
In 2009-2010, he continued his cycle of 20 concerts with the Orchestra Verdi, and recorded a CD of music by Victor De Sabata for Universal. OdM debut.

The Long Christmas Ride Home, Quills, and
The Grey Zone at prominent theatres such as Second Stage, Manhattan Theater Club, Roundabout Theatre Company, BAM, New York Theater Workshop, Vineyard Theater, and Playwrights Horizon. Opera credits include productions at New York City Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis,
Tokyo Nikikai Opera Theater, and the Minnesota Opera. OdM debut.

Jessica Jahn (U.S.A.) – Costumes

Jessica Jahn danced professionally in
New York City before beginning a career in design. Her work has taken her throughout the United States, as well as to the U.K. Some of the recent projects on which she has collaborated include Love, Loss and What I Wore at the Westside Theatre, Die Mommie Die! at New World Stages (Winner of the Lucille Lortel Award), In the Red and Brown Water at the Alliance Theatre, La cenerentola at Glimmerglass Opera, Esoterica at the Daryl Roth Theatre, and Il trovatore and Roberto Devereux at Minnesota Opera. Upcoming projects include Life is a Dream at Santa Fe Opera, and Maria Stuarda and Anna Bolena with Minnesota Opera. OdM debut.
