Myrtò Papatanasiu (Greece)



With a repertoire that ranges from baroque to contemporary music, and includes the main Mozartian, Rossinian, and Verdian roles, as well as the verismo heroines, Myrtò Papatanasiu has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious opera houses and festivals, including the Staatsoper Berlin, the De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the Sydney Opera House, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Opernhaus in Zurich, the New National Theatre in Tokyo, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, and the Opéra de Monte Carlo, among many others. Appearances in 2012 include the titles roles in Rusalka at La Monnaie and in La traviata at The Dallas Opera where she was announced as the winner of the Maria Callas Award for best debut artist of the year.
