Biography

Kamen Chanev’s repertoire includes the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Faust, Werther, Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Alfredo Germont (La traviata), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Don José (Carmen), Radamès (Aida), and Calaf (Turandot). His career has taken him to the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, Teatro La Fenice, and houses in Frankfurt, Zurich, Catania, Roma, Washington, Tokyo, Antwerp, Valencia, Seville, and Tel Aviv, among others. Recent engagements include Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut) in Washington Opera, Turridu (Cavalleria rusticana) and Calaf at the Teatro Opera in Rome, Radamès at Opera Roma, Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera) at Staatsoper im Schiller Theater, and Il Duca di Mantova (Rigoletto) at Solothurn Classics in Switzerland.
