Biography

(2nd year) – NOVA SCOTIA

A native of Halifax, Josh has recently been heard in the title roles of Don Giovanni at the Accademia Europea dell’Opera, Le nozze di Figaro at the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy, and Aleko at Opera Five. He also sang Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) and Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) at the University of Toronto, where he completed his Masters of Music (Opera Performance) on a Bombardier Scholarship, as a student of J. Patrick Raftery. Last year, he made his debut at Saskatoon Opera as Moralès/Le Dancaïre (Carmen) and as the Mandarin (Turandot) at the Opéra de Montréal, where he will return as Fiorello (Il barbiere di Siviglia) in the 2014-2015 season.
