Biography

Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal member (1st year). Jean-Michel Richer spent the summer of 2012 at the Academy of the West, working with Marylin Horne and Warren Jones. Last season, he sang the role of Henri-Bernard Dabadie in Rossini et ses muses and Ben (The Telephone) with l’Atelier lyrique, and he debuted at the Opéra de Montréal in the role of a Gipsy (Il trovatore). Previously, he was Des Grieux (Le portrait de Manon) with CVAI, Count Homonay (Der Zigeunerbaron) and the title-role in Don Giovanni with the University of Montréal Opera. He received bursaries from the Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation and the Jacques Lareau Foundation.
