Biography

Member of the Atelier lyrique (1st year). Cairan Ryan obtained his Artist Diploma in Voice Performance at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music. He was also a member of the Virginia Opera’s Resident Artist Program, and holds degrees in performance from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the University of Victoria. He has taken part in summer programs at the Banff Centre, the Green Mountain Opera Festival, Opera on the Avalon, Opera Nuova, the Salzburg-Mozarteum Meisterkursen, and the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute. He is a laureate of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques and winner of the Noël E. Spinelli Music Award, and was awarded an Alberta Foundation for the Arts Individual Music Project grant, a McGill University Schulich Scholarship, and a scholarship from the Johann Strauss Foundation.
