Biography

From the time of his professional operatic debut at Teatro alla Scala in 2002 as Don Alfonso (Lucrezia Borgia), Burak Bilgili has enjoyed a busy international career. Recent engagements include Zaccaria (Nabucco) with the Washington National Opera, Mustafa (L'Italiana in Algeri) in Atlanta Opera, Ramfis (Aida) with Edmonton Opera, Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte) at the Opéra-Théâtre d’Avignon, Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Leporello (Don Giovanni) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Metropolitan Opera, Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor) with Vancouver Opera, and Ferrando (Il trovatore) at the San Francisco Opera and Metropoltian Opera. Upcoming engagements include Ramfis with the Atlanta Symphony, Don Basilio for the Dallas Opera, and the Four Villains (Les contes d’Hoffmann) in Beijing.
