Biography

Of her performance as Ariel (The Tempest) at the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Times said: “Adès’s Ariel is a dazzling creation, and Ms. Luna conquers the role.” A Deutsche Grammophon DVD of the production, with Audrey Luna as Ariel, will be released internationally in this September. Her 2013-14 season engagements currently include her return to the Metropolitan Opera as Fiakermilli (Arabella), her debut with the San Francisco Symphony as Ariel in Scenes from The Tempest, Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos) with Virginia Opera, Chian Ching (Nixon in China) with Wide Open Opera in Dublin, and her return to the Pittsburgh Opera as Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte). In addition to her Metropolitan Opera performances in The Tempest, recent engagements included Zerbinetta with Fort Worth Opera; the Queen of the Night with Utah Opera; Carmina Burana with the National Philharmonic; Ariel with Festival Opéra de Québec and with Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia; the Queen of the Night with Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Santa Fe Opera; Madame Mao (Nixon in China) with Lyric Opera of Kansas City; and Venus (Le Grand Macabre) with the New York Philharmonic.
