Suzanne Rigden

Soprano, Canada

Canadian soprano Suzanne Rigden is making her mark on the International stage with her “remarkable gift for stratospheric coloratura” and witty “comic genius”.

She recently shone in the roles of Queen of the Night (DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE) with Opera Company of Middlebury, Zerbinetta (ARIADNE AUF NAXOS) with Pacific Opera Victoria, Queen of the Night (LA FLUTE ENCHANTÉE) with Festival Opéra de Ste-Eustache and Gilda (RIGOLETTO) with Maritime Concert Opera. The critics were unanimous in underlining her magical performance. “Suzanne Rigden, pert and personable as the worldly Zerbinetta, has a gleaming, cleanly articulate coloratura sound, and she nails her huge, dazzlingly virtuosic recitative and aria, which ranges up to high E.”

Recent engagements include Adele in (DIE FLEDERMAUS) with Vancouver Opera as well as Maritime Concert Opera, Tytania (MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM) with Pacific Opera Victoria, Blondchen (DIE ENTFÜHRUNG AUS DEM SERAIL) with Ann Arbour Symphony Orchestra and Opera Nova Scotia, Mabel (PIRATES OF PENZANCE) with Drayton Entertainment and CARMINA BURANA with Victoria Symphony. In addition she sang Rosina (Il BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA) and Lady with a Hand Mirror (POSTCARD FROM MOROCCO) with Merola Opera Center in San Francisco.

Former member of the Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal.
