Anne-Catherine Simard-Deraspe

With training and a background in the performing arts industry, she is a Jill-of-all-trades when it comes to lighting: dance, theatre, exhibitions, architecture. For the opera stage, she has designed the lighting for several productions, including Il tabarro/Suor AngelicaThe Barber of SevilleLucia di LammermoorTosca,The Magic Flute, Rusalka, and Werther (Opéra de Montréal), as well as Macbeth (Opera Australia). She was also the assistant lighting designer for Thaïs (Palm Beach Opera and Kentucky Opera). She also teaches at the National Theatre School of Canada. Recently: Manon (Opéra de Montréal); Vodou (Canadian Museum of Civilization); Die fledermaus (Opéra de Montréal). Last company production: Lakmé (2013).
