Anna Markarova

Anna Markarova started out as a soloist at the Mariinsky Opera’s Academy of Young Singers before going on to join the company in 2010, where she appeared in such roles as Elisabetta (Don Carlos), Aida, Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Odabella (Attila), Leonora (Il trovatore), Amelia (Un ballo in maschera), and others. Recent engagements include Didon (Les Troyens) in Rotterdam; Odabella in Trieste, Finland, and Astana; Abigail (Nabucco) at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence; Verdi’s Requiem in Madrid; and Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana) in Israel. This season, she sings Lady Macbeth in Kiel, and Aida in St. Petersburg. Company debut.
